Her father is a geologist, Kamel Kawar, and her mother is Widad Kawar, from the Palestinian city of Tulkarm. In 1988, Mary Kawar received her Bachelor\u2019s degree in Anthropology and Economics from Tufts University in the United States of America, then she obtained a Master\u2019s degree in \u201cSocial Policy and Planning for Developing Countries\u201d from the United Kingdom in 1989, and she received a Ph.D. in \u201cDevelopment Studies\u201d from the College of London Economics 1997.<\/p>\n<h3>Her positions and career<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Researcher at the Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, during the period (1989-1991).<\/li>\n<li>Adviser to the Jordanian Minister of Labor, during the period (2006-2007).<\/li>\n<li>Director of the International Labor Organization in East Africa, and official and consultant at the organization\u2019s headquarters in Geneva and the regional office in Beirut, during Period (1997-2017).<\/li>\n<li>The Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, during the period (14 June 2018 \u2013 7 November 2019), in the government of Omar Al-Razzaz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Kamel Amin Kawar was born in Amman, Jordan.
